How do you cylce your retics to breed?

Just curious- I have not really cycled the temps very much yet still had success- perhaps the outside light cycle- there is a small window way off to the side of my snake room, but the main light comes from flourescent banks on the ceiling on a timer that are pretty much on 12 hours a day year round. I do turn off the under tank heat on one side of the cage but since they rarely stay on the heated side as the room stays about 78-82F it likely has minimal effect- the females definitely eat up after laying and this is likely the largest effect on cycling- female fat stores
the males dont seem to want to go off feed yet the girls do once the males are cycled into their cages.

Any other observations?

do most breeders do the night time cool down or not?

Just got back from a party- the same female Kayuadi that was tail wagging as noted previosly was hooked up with her male (her brother/sib in this case). She shed yesterday. Earlier today she was smashing the glass with her head looking for food when i walked by and was cleaning her cage- chasing her into the other half of her divided cage, putting in a partition and cleaning one side at a time. This, my best breeder female, doesnt willingly go from one side to the other unlike the other two breeder girls- this one likes to try to eat anything that moves or touches her, regardless of what is going on- keeps me a little on my toes- but again- when out has never bitten me since a hatchling 6 years ago-

The other two girls are off feed now for three weeks and although I have never seen them hooked up- like I did tonight with the one female- they both look like they are developing follicles in their midsections- Time will tell. I am looking forward to setting up the incubator already- and the GTPs and Dumeril's boas haven't even started to be cycled yet-

looking forward to another good winter- less feeding and increased follicle formation and cycling

When ever I have talked with both Bob Clark and Mike Wilbanks they have said cooling with retics is not necessary to cool them since they breed year round in the wild. Even the jamps where the temp change quite a bit through the year there breed year round. They even do the same with there burms.
