I have had Yoshi, a male(?) CWD for a few months, and just recently acquired Spaz, a female(?) CWD a few weeks ago. They are the same size (about 5" shout to vent), about 1-1/2 years of age guesstimate. So as you know, sexing them at this size/age is a matter of guessing since they are not sexually mature yet. Spaz was a WC and I believe Yoshi was a CB based on his appearance in comparison to hers (other than minimal snout damage from previous care he is immaculate in appearance - very even, clean looking spikes, etc.), where as Spaz had a missing thumb on one hand, missing claw on another, and is very rough looking in appearance (uneven spikes, just looks like she had a rough life). She also has MBD which I am currently treating. Anyway, I am wondering if they would have matured differently based on their upbringings? Spaz has more developed spikes down her back, while Yoshi's are just starting to develop, things like that... Also, I am wondering if they would show any signs indicating their sex at this stage? My reason for asking is that when I let them out to free roam, Yoshi tends to chase after Spaz and lick her, and he also does this thing with his arm where he seems to be waving to someone (he lifts it up and moves it in a circular motion, puts it back down, then does it again - he will do this about 5 times in a row). Would these behaviors be him flirting with her? They also have a tendency to jump on one another (she likes to sit on his head). I am looking for anyone's advice on what they think about all of this. I appreciate any and all feedback. Thank you.
