Cannibalistic behavior in rosys ?

today i walked in to my snake room as i do every morning to check on things and i found my female rosy eatting a fully developed neonate i knew rosys would eat unfertilized ovum but i didnt know that they would eat the neonates has anyone else ever seen this behavior

Yikes! Did she get it down? I have read that they do somewhere. Real bummer.

yeah she got it down i woke up and found her with it almost completely swallowed i was very upset by it i didnt even know she was gravid

they are riverside rosys and no she didnt have any more there were 2 unfertilized ovum and she ate that too

The neonate was possibly stillborn, which would explain her eating it. I have heard of BCI accidently eating live young along with slugs and stillborns my mistake....this is also a possibility. It is unfortunate you lost this baby, but it is highly probable it was stillborn
