Snufuluf...that is awesome!!! She is a dollface Jordan...very nice little snake. I have 2 of her sibs - we should compare notes as they grow.

Just because I have a short attention span doesn't mean

LOL, thanks Kara. She looks kinda goofy so I figured a goofy name would suit her. Hopefully I can swing the funds for a mate soon. Might just be better to wait til next season tho.

Awsome little marble there.I still think they should be called granites. That guy offers them at a great price, I almost picked up another one.Nice clean pics really shows of her colors beatiful snake.I'll be posting some pics here soon. Later, Ethan

The term marble was actually first used to describe a crazy "marble" type pattern on the dorsal area, and the speckling of the sides was also inherent in these animals. The marble pattern is kinda hard to describe tho, my girl kinda has it in the middle and then her tail and neck are normal. Sort of like there is no line seperating the speckling and dorsal, and lots of rich shading in the dorsal pattern. Since there have been alot of animals with just a normal dorsal pattern and speckling sides. It seems to me that the speckling is a dominant mutation while the marble pattern on the back is co-dom? or something (I know very little morph inheritance). Thus having two different morphs actually going on. IMO opinion animals that just have the speckling should be called something else like granite and what are being reffered to as true marbles as just marbles. This of course is just me blabbering.. hopefully someone who is more informed will chime in.

Hmm.. I have better pics but dont have permission to use them. This is a somewhat recent imported animal that has what appears to be a marbled pattern but not much speckling on the sides.

Kieth at the bloodline I think has the true marble bloods going on, thats why it makes me think about what is basically a true marble.I'll try to get a picture of mine tonight, I think yours has better colors personally, I'll have to see. Later, Ethan

Right on, I think Keith was one of the first to breed them. Alot have bred marbles to normals and thuse getting less of the marble effect but still creating some pretty interesting snakes. I was amazed with this girls color change after the first shed.. almost a different snake, very excited to see what she'll look like in a few months.
