Correcting dehydration

SPJ01 Jun 29, 2003 08:36 PM

I recently received some import BP's (CH '03 babies) and one is severely dehydrated. Lateral folds of skin. I have been tubing it each day with unflavored pedialite giving it just enough based upon the weight of the snake. So far there is a marked improvement in color, body mass, the skin has a nice sheen to it now instead of a dried out look, and it's more active. There are still some signs of the folds toward the tail. How many/how long do I need to keep this up? Until the folds are gone, until it drinks on it's own? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

...at this point you can offer pedialyte in an easily accessible water bowl. Try feeding soon (live large fuzzy mouse/pink rat).
