Bloods are evil, nasty, and.......

drummagirl Oct 31, 2004 07:09 PM

umm...yeah....sorry, I couldn't keep a straight face

yep, these pictures show off how truly horrible these creatures are....

Somebody's grown!

Ya'll will have to excuse how I look....I was halfway through changing out of my flight uniform when I recieved an unpleasant phone call. Once I was off the phone I said 'screw changing clothes' and made a bee-line for the snakes. Big Red here came to the rescue and helped cheer me up. Gotta love snake therapy

Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
Wheeled and soared and swung

Hey Carole,
You look great and so does the Blood. I can commiserate with your sentiment of feeling at peace after handling your snake. I often times will just go through cages and change out water bowls and clean others and the feeling is quite comforting.

Thanks Angel

Isn't it nice to have found something with the ability to soothe a bad mood?? My critters have certainly aided me in getting through a few bad times. Just one more thing to love about this hobby! Cage cleaning also makes for great 'alone' time...chance to get away from everyone for a little bit. Take care Angel!

Carole......very nice healthy looking blood. It shows that you baby that one. You both look very happy together. I just cleaned a bunch of cages, and I am now shutting down for the night. I find peace in working my animals. Great to see others enjoy them to that level as well. Thanks for sharing. nite.......jody

I've been debating if Big Red was getting a little too big. He's only fed a large rat every week or two, and I had actually been wondering if I should be feeding him more. It just amazed me how much he's grown in a year, especially with him coming up on his fourth year. I weighed him about 2-3 months ago and he was tipping the scale at a little over 14 pounds.

This boy is defintely my baby Its difficult to explain to the 'non-keeper' crowd how snakes can help you through difficulties in life...but we blood keepers know whats goin' on

Take care!

I totally agree with everything said. There is definately some therapy that comes out of the hobby. I tend to be fairly busy these days so cages are usually cleaned fairly quickly. But when I have some time to take them out and just watch and handle some of these beatiful critters it really sooths me. Big Red is lookin good Carole!
