Let the fun begin

We have had some nice, cool fall windy days in the Chicago area. One of my younger adult females has been restless and didn't accept food (and this is a ravenous feeder). Though a bit early for the breeding season, I cued into her subtle behavior and introduced her to one of my big boys...copulation took place within five minutes....10 hours and still going strong!....hmmm, us guys can only wish! This is one of those situations in which those of us who work with Drymarchon need to be very aware of behavioral cues as normally, I would have just waited until later in the month ("because that's when most of us begin introductions" but decided against it.

Good luck! I've had rubidus, unis, and Y/T's breeding for a couple of weeks now. If they are all gravid I may need help starting all those babies. I wouldn't be surprised if my big Y/T laid 30 or more eggs....add that to the other 3 females, the rubs and the unis and that could be a bunch of babies.

WOOHOO! Great news Rob! BTW, out of curiousity, and thinly veiled anticipation, how long after birth are the young usually ready to be sold? Also at what point between birth and being ready to move to new homes can/should the permit process be started?
