Pygmy's!!!!!!

Today started off like every other day. Nothing. I walked nearly 6 miles through a local park without finding anything other than a six-lined racerunner. At about 4 o'clock I went left to eat and on the way back to the park I noticed an interesting dirt road. I turned on it and it turned it that it bordered a tree farm. In between the trees and the road was a canal. I looked promising so I pulled over and started walking. Within 15 minutes I found the first one all sprawled out, she was huge and probably a tick short of 24'. 5 minutes later I found the second one. While at the state park I drained the battery of my camera and when I went to take a picture it died just before I got it into focus. It was too much to pass up so I brought them home for photos. I set them up in this temp. cage and took a few pics. Tomorrow when there is daylight I will take some pictures of them in a natural setting before releasing them.

I was trying to get the pictures to work and I can't figure out how to delete the bad messages. If a posted message can be deleted, tell me how and I will gladly remove the bad ones. Sorry it bothered you.

Does anyone know where I can find eastern milks in Wisconsin? What is the preferred habitat?

thanks
Mike

I don’t know about Wisconsin, but in NYS I typically find them in deciduous forests, under rocks in rock piles. If you are out for the day, check and re-check rocks...sometimes I'll turn over a rock at the beginning of the day & get skunked, only to find one under the same rock several hours later.

I used to live close to racine wisconsin and I used to find lots of eastern milks around a place called wind lake. they were usually just outside of heavily wooded areas, I had the most luck looking under boards and logs.

I usually find some around the Waukesha area at a little place called Menomenee park. Thanks for the input!
