Temp range to keep Cornsnakes?

BrianS Oct 31, 2004 09:55 PM

Hello you all,
I normally only post in the tarantula and scorp forums here but I got a new addition. I went to the venomous expo in Ozark, MO to get some spiders and scorpions but a gorgeous Motley Cornsnake caught my eye. It is docile and calm. I really like it. I keep my spider room between 70-80F. Is that ok for the snake? Thanx for your replies in advance

Here is a picture of my new cornsnake.

I keep mine in a heated room, it hits about 85-87 during the afternoon but averages 82-84.

If you're just going to heat the cage with heat lights, pads, or tapes, you should aim for about 85 on the warm end.

as babies you want to have a 75/85 cool/warm side setup, but as it grows into an adult you need to drop to a 70/80 setup. check out my care sheet in my sig, it goes over the basics.
