It is always possible. Usually the ones on display is the best looking of all. In order to get one of that caliber you would have to pay a whole lot more. Unless, like other people on this forum, you get one and they go through a shed and you happen to get a superb reptile. We bought one from a private breeder for $125.00. She was pretty but nothing real great. She shed twice and after her second shed she went through a total change. She is spectacular. We were actually offered $750.00 for her at a year old. Here is a picture of her. We call her Flaming Orange. She is always beautiful. She never has any dark appearance.

and continue that practice. Ask if they have a certain diet, lights, ambient temps and enclosure temps, hours of light and dark, what supplements and how often. Reptiles stress like few other animals, avoid that as much as possible, that cute kitty that thinks the dragons are entertaining, may be affecting your dragons color!

All these factors play a role in the color and health of the dragon after it leaves the breeder.

I can't bring myself to purchase a hatchling that I can't see. You know dragons den only takes pics of the best ones. They also attend shows regularly if you want one from them go to a show. You know they bring the best caliber to the shows cause that's where they can get the high prices for them. As for the ones sold online I can't say for sure or not, but it's luck. They tell you they'll pick the best but who knows. As for breeders who I trust and who will show you pics of each and every hatchling they post for sale. Chis Allen is one from www.Jerseydragons.com, the Dachiu's at www.Dachiu.com produce a lot and they show some on their website, but have a bunch others to offer, Never bought from Sundial but they have some great looking healthy dragons at www.Sundialreptile.com. These breeders as they have babies for sale post a pic of every one available. For me that does it, no guess work, and great after purchase help. Good Luck. If your want to see some of the dragons I got from Chris Allen hit the word photos below. The real bright orange ones were all from him.
