My florida kingsnake eats underwater is this common ?

ive recently bought a florida kingsnake , it has this strange habbit of either dunking its pk rat-pups or eating it totally underwater.. now ive got 2 other snakes a ball python and a taiwan beauty and neither of these has ever done this..
so is this a common thing for kingsnakes?
