pueblan shed

Lucio Nov 01, 2004 12:37 PM

I just added a Pueblan milk hatchling to my collection. He's been feeding fine and just had his first shed. However, the skin came off in patches and I had to help in getting most off. This has never happened to my L. alterna that I keep under fairly identical conditions. What should I do? Does the milksnake normally require greater humidity levels, or was this nothing to worry about?

I would try increasing the humidity. This is usually the cause of shedding problems. When your snake is having a bad shed, you may have a problem with retained eye caps. Todd
