Since the rains two weeks ago in San Diego we've had a population explosion - 6 new gulf coast hatchlings and 2 ornate. My nursery is overflowing - good thing the 5 year olds are big enough to be turned out into the yard next spring. Mary Beth

Out of curiousity, what do you do with the babies? Are you able to find homes for them all easily?

Right now I have 15 babies in my nursery - 4 will be released into my backyard next spring. Last year I adopted out 3 to a good home but this population explosion this year has never happened before. I guess I'll just care for them and adopt them out if a person willing to invest the time to care for them expresses interest.
