I have been trying to locate one to match with my big male but have had no luck. If anyone has an idea where to look please let me know. Thanks, Frank Kincade.

Hello Frank, to answer your question, you do not find big female boeleni. They are not being imported in anymore; the few adult animals that are here are in collections or facilities. All that are allowed in are babies and that is scares as it is.

This species is so unbelievable that it is a shame we can't somehow get together as a group and try to produce these guys with more regularity (sp?). I have 1.1 cb 2003 babies as well but the wait for them to be of breeding age according to all data available is probably at least 7 years. Anyway, thanks for your response and I will impatiently keep looking.
But I really hope you find out.
Unrelated question:
How are you Papuans doing this year? My male is refusing food, leaving the little messages and doing everything but copulate with the water dish. Sadly, I think its another two years before my female is old enough/large enough, though I may give her a go in fall 2005.
month and set them up with the females in mid December and hope for something this year. I don't know what the trick with them is but I think older wiser females is one aspect and both of my girls are quite large and hopefully ready to give me some eggs to incubate. Thanks for asking. I have contacted a number of zoos about Boelen's females and will see what info I can get.
They may be able to point you in a few directions.

I think Hank Molt at globalherp.com breeds them. His site has been down for a while, but he may be able to help you out as well.
