No matter how many times you see it....

It always excites me. I woke up this morning and looked in the incubater and low and behold baby caiman running around.. The surprising thing is twice I was without power due to the storms. 5 days the first time 4 days the next time. During that time I saw the temps get down in the mid 70s several times in the incubator so I didn't think any would hatch. Looks like I was wrong!!! Hope you all enjoy...

Only 1 hatched so I guess I got my hopes up to soon. After 24 hours I opened the rest of the eggs and by the looks of there development they look to have died some time ago. The 1 that did hatch came from the middle of the tray so may be was just warm enough to make it threw the power outage.

I know every one is saying why didn't he have a generator? I have lived in FL my whole life and can not ever remember being with out power for more than a day. After the first storm up until a few weeks ago, you would have had a better chance finding water in the dessert than a generator in FL. I have 2 now so I will be ready for next year but that didn't help me this year...

One hatchling is better than none right? I am going to keep this one and name it Jeane...
