Chris
preferably a large one, then stick your hand in front of it. If you're lucky, you may be able to get a pic of the boa actually biting you. Or, you can just bring one to your speech w/ you and do it there. There's nothing better than showing the real thing, especially when the crowd just expects pics.
Best of luck in your speech to whoever... jb

why you would need a picture of a hissing boa and a boa bite to talk about boas? sounds to me that you want to take awesome animals and represent them in a negetive light.i really hope that isnt the case. if it is you are certainly asking the wrong group for help. i myself dont see that how such pics have anything to do with talking about boas or how such pics would even be needed. for the most part boas arent nasty. in my opinion idont think anyone should provide this individual with such pics. you just never know in what context such pics will be used in . we have enough detremental press and more than enough dumbasses try to shut our hobby down with out us assisting them
thats just my honest opinion

I don't think anyone was going to give this person anything. He or she has knocked on the wrong door. Though, good points.

Show people the beauty of snakes and how they are misunderstood. Your just gonna make people
more afraid of snakes than they already are and give people the wrong idea about them.

It is an informative speech for my public speaking class. I am doing the speech on the captive care of BCI. I am not trying to make keeping reptiles look easy, I am trying to show the reality of keeping snakes. The rest of my show is all positive, I do not have hissing snakes or a good pic of one of my bites or I would use that. I am taking pics of my snakes for the main parts.
Thanks, Chris
Appears to have the same story line as the other snake shows. They just cant settle for the truth that boas arent naturally "offensively" aggressive in their natural state. They only engage their natural "defensive" instincts when threatened by un'natural human intervention.
So tease a snake into defending itself for the camera, then attempt to show what ?That wild animals, though bred captive still retain their natural instincts of defense ?
Cant have a show without the aggression ?
Cant anyone take a few pics/video of some docile snakes(wild or captive) in well maintained/natural conditions that have no need for negitive, instinctive responses to human interaction there by strictly maintaining a postive exclusive format that doesnt allow negitive fear a foot-hold furthering the urban legend fear mongers with yet more breath to speak out against an already slandered breed of animal ?
just thinking ..............

Money Only Wished It Had The Control Over The World That FEAR Does !
Boas are not aggresive animals and I have no intention of agitating one of mine into acting out agressively. All but one of my 19 boas have great attitudes. The exception is my neonate male Cay Caulker. I am not trying to show snakes in a negative light as some people on here think. I am educating people on the positives and negatives of keeping boas. I do not believe that boas or snakes in general are for everyone, it takes some dedication to keep the larger species, I just wanted to illustrate why it takes this dedication. I apologize if my posts were misunderstood.

Having NOT read this entire thread, I think I get the generally theme none the less. Well, CCS, is obviously not a large breeder, that we've all heard of or the tone I feel would be different. Should an educational format include the potential negatives of keeping reptiles? If you want to truly educate rather than just paint pretty(although not entirely true) pictures, then YES it should. Do any of those among us remember the picture of Dave Barkers inner thigh being published in Reptiles magazine? You know, the picture of the bite he sustained dealing with captive reptiles? These things can and do happen, and to say your educating people by giving them only the facts YOU chose to give them is pretty small minded. Did we get upset when the HSUS came after us for keeping reptiles? Yes, I know I did, mainly because they only published the information that best suited their case rather than the whole picture. I think new keepers should be made aware that these animals DO have the potential to harm them. No matter how you slice it, it is TRUE. Best of luck to all of you, take care!

I do not believe tha I was fully understood at the beginning of this thread, that being the reason that everyone decided to jump on me.
PS: I saw your hog's at Daytona, very nice.
