HELP!! URGENT DISASTER!

xsamx Nov 01, 2004 09:51 PM

My female just laid what appears to be 2 eggs stuck together. They are both milky white, one is sort of soft. I know egg binding comes from calcium defficiency and all but I strongly doubt that was it. I've dusted every single feeding with calcium. How could this happen? Should I even attempt to put the eggs in an incubator? I don't even have one. She laid them just fine. She seems ok. Is there a chance now that she will suffer or go down hill. Ahhh what do i do?

they often stick together when they are laid they are wet and sort of slimy, so if they are laid close together they might stick. Egg Binding is when the eggs get stuck IN the female.

ahh.I barely touched them and little indentations were made. I don't have an incubator, what should I do? I wont be able to do anything until late tomorrow as well. What should I do as far as keeping them safe? Is this next 24 hour period crucial?

It may already be too late. I don't really know as I have never hatched eggs. I did see one meathod of hatching eggs that was to put them in a container with moist vermiculite or peat moss, put a lid on it and place it on a high shelf in a warm room. You have to make sure it stays moist and open the container daily for airflow, or so the story went when I read it. I can not recall who posted it. I found it on a google search for breeding leos.
