Sexing rosys

bloodnerd Nov 01, 2004 10:24 PM

I have had some trouble sexing rosys. I have no trouble sexing corns, blood pythons and boas other than rosys. Can anyone tell me probing depth for males and female and some external characteristics of both and/or a pic showing the difference would be great.
thanks all replies will be appreciated.

I've never yet probed a rosy. It's not necessary. I sex babies the day they are born.
Only males have claws. It can take a good eye or at least a magnifying glass
but examine them closely and you'll find males have small claws that are mobile
and can be lifted slightly. They are often the same color as the background scales, but
they are there if you look closely.. Usually with neonate you can still get a finger nail or piece of paper under them.
Females have no claws.
