I read that ball pythons become sexualy mature at about 1000 grams. Some females reach this weight at one year of age, does this mean the are ready to breed? any info will help

Where exactly did you read that female Ball Pythons become sexually mature at 1000g?

In a book name either the general "care and maitanence of ball pythons" or the "ball python manual" ( i'm not sure)it has a yellow and black ball python on the cover. they had a chart on the growth rates of ball pythons and it illustrated that once a snake reached 1000 grams it was "probaly" or "possibly" sexual mature. If this is wrong than what is a good weight for female to breed at.

1500g is the accepted minimum for females, although exceptions occur all the time. I had a 1200g female give me 6 HUGE eggs last year. As you get experience, its a judgement call. Until then, the guideline for females is 1500g min.. Males? Doesn't matter. Try and breed them whenever. No negative rigours for the male for the breeding season.
