Orange tiger - and trying out a new lens . . .

Powergeckos Nov 02, 2004 09:03 AM

This is an orange tiger I bought from Steve Hoch (who, by the way, is a very decent guy with really nice rhacs). The female behind him is a pale peachy female who produced this year.

The lens I'm using, isn't exactly a dedicated "macro" lens. It's a Canon 28-135mm IS - more of a walk around lens, but it still took a pretty nice shot from 2 feet away. I'm still pretty new at using my Digital Rebel.

Just thought I'd share . . .

Great looking geckos!! I have a fondness for the peach ones and heavily patterned tigers. I think the camera and its master did a fine job!
Thanks for sharing yhe pics and camera info!

Very Nice Monte, I like the orange tigers the most out of the morphs.

I have been looking into that camera to. I like my fuji s602z but I would like the option of changing lenses.
Have fun with your new camera and keep the pic's coming!

Thanks for the nice words.

I actually picked up this camera because of my kids. My daughter is in marching band and my son races BMX. In both cases, it's nice to get close up and lots of shots. My point and shoot just wasn't measuring up - so I bid, and bid and bid on Ebay until I found one in my price range.

I like the dRebel for that stuff so far.
