Figure out when you want to put them into brumation. Stop feeding them at least 2 weeks prior to this date. Keep the heat on in order for them to fully expel all waste from their bodies.

Then remove the heat. Either keep them at room temp for a few days or immediately put them in the cooler area of the house (50-60 F is what most people try to shoot for). If you can keep them in a relatively dark area that would be good too. Still provide them with water, because they still will drink during brumation.

I am going to just keep mine at room temp instead of trying to drop them too low. We keep our house pretty cold in the winter anyway (62-68 F). I did this last year and it worked well. All of them went crazy in the spring trying to get out to find mates.

The question wasn't whether or not corns need to be brumated the question was how to go about brumating them after making the decision to do so.

Corn snakes and rat snakes..No one can have just one.

You are right. I know quite a few breeders who have excellent results without brumation, but personally I like the break from caring for them during the winter. I have hatchlings that I wont be brumating, so they'll keep me plenty busy as it is.
