Hi Peter, it is hard to tell by the picture, is this really crusty, like a hardness? Or just spots ?

It could be a crusty dermatitis seen in lizards from time to time. And like you say a bacterial infection of some kind.

** What are you using for your substrate, sand? When you got your sand was it sterile, washed ?

Just some thoughts, I would DUMP the sand. Maybe use paper towels or something similar just while your treating it.

I would use povidone- iodine solution , pour some in a small container add a small amount of water, make it look like weak tea color, and dip a cotton ball in there and then apply to the crusty areas.

After its dry put on neosporin or triple anitbiotic (ointment) a couple times a day. If...... that does not work for you I would ask A Vet for medical help.

JUST MY OPINION Peter, I have used this technique with some skin problems in lizards.

Sure hope they will be fine, let us know how you make out!

If the antibiotics are working their magic, try some antifungal meds for athlete's foot, or jock itch.

Hi Jonh,

The antibiotic-creme is working but it will come back from time tot time. It's also infectious to the others. So I realy think it's a kind of bacteri.
I'm so sorry, but what is antifungal??
I know you mean it's for the foot of athletics, but I'm don't know a Dutch translation of that other word???

The creme I used til now, is a creme for eye-infection by docs and cats.

Yes Eve.... It's hard and crusty.
As substrate I use T-rex Calci-sand.
I also did sterlilysed it.

Thanks already. Peter

ha ha, a vocabulary lesson! well "anti" is used to mean "against" and "fungal" is the adjective form of the word "fungus" so an antifungal is a type of medicine that works against fungus. i think the most popular fungus is a mushroom. i hope that clears up what the word means
