Sugar Gliders are a very social and group orientated animal. They need to be in close contact with another Sugar Glider or you most of the time.
I think most people think of these as some kind of squirrel and that leads to neglect. Sugar Gliders are a extremely social animal, and live in very close tight family groups. When these 1st started to appear as pets all I heard were horror stories about them dieing soon after being purchased when bought individually. Most breeders like to sell them in pairs or small groups as they become depressed and will stop functioning if kept without a friend or the owner does give it enough attention.
I was really put off having them as pets while at a Chicago Backer Trade Show. A breeder had a big cage of them and had them for sale. I watched as they pulled one out for a little girl to have after her father paid for it. I never heard a little animal scream like that and actually reach for it's own kind while the ones in the cage did the same thing back to it.
It then managed to get loose and it sprinted past some people and ran up my leg screaming the whole time. The owner came and grabbed it off me and gave it back to the little girl. I was horrified that those little things could look so miserable being separated like that from it's own kind. The place selling them encouraged buying pairs so they could be together and not stress so much, I think the price for a pair was a great bargain considering how much a single one was. Though it looked like most being sold were all sold by themselves without a buddy.
They are neat looking and very social and if you take care of them properly and give them the attention they need like you would a puppy, then I think they can make for some awesome pets! My view on having them as pet's now has changed as people now realize how to care for them and lot's of people love their little Sugar's. If I didn't have all my panthers, dogs, chinchillas, hamsters, and snakes I'd probably get a pair of Sugar Glider's too. I've seen large groups of them playing and chasing eachother around and it was a blast to see.
Best of luck with your Gliders they look so cute and sweet!
Don't let them watch R-rated movies it give them nightmares.
They are absolutely adorable!!!!! I WANT ONE!!!!!

mmm..suggarr...
I always wanted an armadillo..
Im pretty sure Pindari is only 3 months old....
While their temperments are dependent upon themselves, a huge factor is in those that raise them.
EX: Get a glider from a pet store, odds are they won't be nearly as personable as a glider obtained from a breeder who hand raises them and puts the time in they require.... they are family animals that "bond" to people if you put in the time.... Mine go everywhere with me, they hang out in a shirt pocket, in a hoodie pocket.... jacket pocket... sometimes ill throw them in a carrying pouch and hang them around my neck.. work ... class.. the movies.. heh... sometimes they will hop out... run around my shoulders to see whats up, then dive back in, curl up, and go back to sleep. They are like little people for the most part... make them angry and they will get you back. heh.. and they can live 12 years too so... they become a member of your family....

Gliders are awesome pets, but do not underestimate their ferocity.
They will eat anything they can catch, even animals largert han themselves. My glider would run around at night, and stick his had into my veild's cage(while he slept), trying to grab him.
I know many pet store owners that have had escaped gliders do terrible things--one ate the bellies out of two dozen baby veilds in one night. Another opened up a mouse cage, killed and ate an adult mouse larger than itself.
They are the best little furball pets there are--but they can be very , ahhh...predatory.
Sikozu better behave then... or i will give him a reason to run from whatever comes in after I open his cage...
Haha! You should call him Nibbler.
Can they be "litter trained"? If you take them everywhere with you do they learn not to pee on you?
