Hi,
I'm just now returning after a couple years self imposed exile from the internet. One of my favorite Snakes has been the Honduran Milks, particularly the Tangerines. Back in the day what we (myself and my ring of other snake afficianados) called Tangerine Hondurans, had a couple things criteria wise that we felt made a Tangerine. One was that the middle ring was the same color as the outer rings, and two was they usually had a low band count (orange was relatively much wider), like a Sinaloan. Bob Cochran, Lloyd Lemke, had some real nice lines, and of course there were the Love "dreams" and the Damm lines.
Lately I have seen tons of photos being labeled as Tangerines, especially Albinos, but normals as well, that one, have the middle ring not the same color (appear to be no different than tricolor, and when I had my Love's and Lemke's, they were bicolor at hatching, so I'm thinking they don't grow out of it?) and two, have thin bands (high band count) as high as normal if not more.
My questions are, Were my prior "definitions" not correct? And two, are there any of the "top of the line" Dreams or Damms around anymore, or have they all been bred into the Albino lines (which I haven't seen any with as near as wide bands as the above)?
John
