Ooookay... update... sort of? =]

Tobias looks like he finally has a full belly. The sand is finally out of the tank and has been replaced with paper towels. He still cannot eat waxworms, which is okay. So, I dumped the waxworms outside for all the baby froglettes to eat.

I took some baby food and... gulp... six superworms... and stuck them in our small blender. It seemed to work. Everytime a little bit of "meat" got put into Tobias's mouth, his eyes lit up, he chewed, and swallowed. That made me very happy. But it was so disgusting... we're back on baby food... I may cut up the supers and feed them to him once piece at a time...?

Novia is faring well herself. They haven't gained any weight but their tummies are plumping up. From what I can see there have been three bowel movements, FINALLY, it had been over a week. Any crickets I throw in are being ignored.

My mornings are devoted to giving them their meds, food, and attention. Afternoons = sunlight. I'm still trying!

I am happy to hear they're able to keep their tummies full now and are getting treatd. I sure want them to get better, keep up the hard work.

Tobias's colours have improved so much. His tail isn't as skin-and-boney as it was, and his hip bones are showing just the slightest bit of improvement. Only my mom and I can tell, really, cause we've been handling him every day. I can't get over how vibrant his colours are. I've included a picture, but it's not that great... the UVB bulb produces a purple glow so his colours were affected in the photo.

The main thing that I wanted to show you all was that his sinuses aren't as sunken in anymore. They were so bad at one point that I was afraid of touching his head. Now they're improving!

I just fed them both some Turkey baby food with vitamins and repti-cal mixed in. They really seemed to like that, even better than the superworm mix!

Novia bit her tongue in the process of being fed, and she bled a bit. Is this going to be much of a problem? =/

Thanks!

he definitely loks alot more alert! the bulb needs to have a bluish/purplish color. i think that when the color goes away then the UVB bulb is bad. i read that once so i think it is true!

sounding GOOD ! They want to live, Your doing a BANG UP job with them.

I commend you, you are beginning to know exactly what has to be done, doing it, and understanding what they need. For a kid, being disciplined in the morning to grind food and feed them, that is a selfless thing.

Meaning your putting a little creatures needs first when you get up. Many kids are not that responsible!

Your a GOOD KID, glad your with us.

My mom was raised on a farm... my dad's brother always had pets... whether it be chickens, birds, cats, or snakes!

I guess it just comes naturally in our family!

Thanks!
