How Do You Deal With These Creatures When Under Stress?

turtlesong Nov 03, 2004 09:42 AM

I'm a mobile guy. I'm always on the move. I want to take them with me, wherever I go, but I live a sort of half-civilized, half-wild life. Sounds crazy, and some of you may remember me from before.

Well, I'm out of a job and not sure what to do. My frogs(BF's,) are just eating away, growing, getting adult-like. But I've had so many ups and downs I don't know what to do with them if I have to take off again.

Sorry, frog lovers. I took these BF's in or else they would've been fish food. They've grown, but I've run into a calamity again. My health has gone bad, have a blood clot, lost my job. . .it goes on. How do you deal with these creatures when you're under stress? I just can't take as good of care of them as I could before, but I will if someone can give me some good travelling advice, length of feeding times during periods of crisis, travelling info etc.

Thanks

It may be best to give them up. That's my advice, but I'm a novice. You may want to wait for more information.

Sorry to hear about your health problems

Hey, thanks. I can't give them up now. It's like having a pet dog, but perhaps I could let them go if things get too tough.

I'm still hanging. I have job opportunities, but these little critterss. . .they just break my heart more.

Wish I could start a critter-care-of compassions group. Really. I walk downt the parks, see the giant frogs and turtles. Don't know what to do. Should I sit there in the park, make love and take a picture of a woman likd most others do? How's this for sentiment?

I'm so pissed. I know you can't play God, but man. . .man has to have some compassion. These animals, too, just expect me to take care of them. They've bonded. I don't know. . .I'm a little emotional about these critters.

I think that if I were under alot of stress, health-and-jobwise, I would probably give most of my pets to a trusted friend I have who's great with animals. I would not want to hurt the frogs by ignoring them, even if it were not on purpose.
But if the situation is not too dire, you could just keep them and continue to enjoy them. My pets have brought me joy in times when my human friends/family have either let me down or disappointed me, or been mad at me. Animals will never judge you or pick on you, and so they can be a huge comfort when you're feeling blue. If it's at all possible, I'd keep the frogs if I were you; sounds funny, but even a mundane act like cage-cleaning can fill in some boring daytime hours and give you enjoyment when you look back on your pets' clean home and think "I did that!"
