Baby Ball not eating.

a2zgraphix Jun 29, 2003 11:18 PM

Hi, I purchased a male baby ball a week ago from a local pet shop. The pet shop owner told me they were eating "live" hoppers and that he had fed the week prior to me purchasing him. Well after giving him a week to settle in I tried to feed him but he will not eat!! He shows no interest in the small hopper and even seems a little scared. I am getting worried! What should I do wait and try again later, try a different type of food, force feed?? Thanks for any and all help.

dont leave the mouse in there very long if the snake isnt interested. my ball only eats dead; cant hurt to try that regardless of what the guy at the store told you. make sure the temp is high enough. dont handle him for a few days. you can try leaving the snake and mouse in a paper bag in the tank overnight, or cut a hole in a flwoerpot, let the snake go in there, and leave the mouse outside so it can sneak up on it. exposing organs or brains, dipping in chicken broth, rubbing with gerbil urine. try differently colored mice or gerbils. make srue there's no ticks or mites. and then, cross your fingers
