for matt @ghi.. Nicaraguan arabesque boas an d other morphs axanthic

beau Nov 03, 2004 01:19 PM

I was importing Nicaraguan boas back in the mid to late 90's and had a LOT of morphs. Of course back then noone wanted them. They were small and mean boas. I sold most of them for under a few hundred dollars. Some of these pictures, all I have left is color copies or black and white copies. We didnt use internet back then and we mailed out pictures to people via postal service.

Here is some of them.

Hypo Arabesque (same animal)

hypo with connecting saddles

hypo (notice how much lighter the hypos used to be?)

group with hypo, anery, and stripe

axanthic (sorry its in black and white. The saddles and tail pattern was solid black and the eyes were solid black.)

and i imported about the same time
albino rainbow boa

If these dont come out you can go to my photo gallery here on kingsnake. http://gallery.pethobbyist.com/index.php?user=3047&cat=500

If that is a true axanthic boa, it would be the biggest thing to happen to the boa market in many, many years. Based on your description, it's probably anerythristic. An axanthic boa wouldn't still have red pigment. Where's the red?

obviously it wasnt a proven animal and is now dead. The thing wasnt just anery, it was solid black and grey. no red, no yellow. Im not here to claim anything so dont start, Im just showing some pictures.

This boa looked far more axanthic than stones boa. I think his is awesome, but this was even more extreme.
