How long does it take for an infertile egg to start to smell and "cave in"? It's day 16 that my first clutch of leo eggs have been incubating. One of the eggs has a yellow'ish colour to it. The other egg is a lot whiter. The yellow'ish egg is still keeping it's shape, but does not seem to be growing like the other egg (the whiter one). Should i just leave this egg in the incubator and hope for the best? Or does this egg sound like it is infertile? Thnx in advance to all who reply.

Might be infertile. Usually if I have an egg that is in question I wait till the clutch mate hatches out. Some of my infertile eggs never caved in or started to smell, just didnt grow or hatch in the long run. They even stayed white. But usually if mine do they start to cave in after 3 - 5 days. Not alwasy but usually. Hope this helps.

Have you tried candleing them. If the yellow looking one shows no signs of any pink or red veins in it(glows yellow inside), it more than likely infertile. I to have had infertile eggs incubate for well over 30 days without caving or molding. Is it your Geckos first Clutch? Many times this first clutch will be infertile
