My baby corn that is about 1/2 a year old eat its first hopper. When it first eat a pinkie it was just swallowing them then when the meals got bigger it started being more aggresive towards it and I never noticed this wiht my other corn when it was young.
Queston?
Is it ok to feed your baby as much food as it wants?

it's only 6 months eating a HOPPER? What freakin giant type baby corn u got!?!?!!?!?!?!? NEVER feed anything thats more than 1.5 times the largest part of the body, and I dont even go that big. I feed mine once a week, however I wouldn't feed it any more than once every 4 days. the reason why you dont feed them that much that fast, its referred to as power feeding. their organs inside grow much faster than their skeletal system, and it can cause a load of problems. Some breeders do this...usually the ones who care about nothing but money. basically this will shorten the life of your snake.

remember, in the wild a snake wil get hungry but can take upwards of weeks until it finds some food.

I have some of my corns that at 6 months are big enought to eat a hopper even with the 1.5 times the body rule. But i also have some that are still on fuzzies. I only feed every 7 days, so i wouldn't consider it power feeding. Some times I've found that some morphs get bigger then other faster (Aneries in particular, espically when compared to Stripes)

When there young feeding them once a week is plenty.I did a little experimenting with my trio (minus one now).I fed 2 of them twice a week and one once a week. This went on for about 6 months. There was no difference in length but the 2 that ate 2 meals a week were a little fatter. You have to watch out you dont overfeed or you will sooner or later have a regurging corn on your hands. My adult amels only get fed once every 2 to 3 weeks.I do this or they become obese...Paul
