Today I feed it a small hopper I killed it because I didnt know if it was safe to feed to my pac alive, is it? Also when it gets bigger should I feed it any size bigger?

They take them alive in the wild.As long as you keep an eye on it till its in his mouth.I don't know if hoppers attempt to defend themselves but the adults will and can cause serious damage.
It is better to feed prekilled as you will prevent the risk of injury to the frog as well as prevent it from swallowing substrate in its attempts to capture the food item.

As well as preventing suffering for the mouse. There's just no need to risk your frog & make the mouse die a painful death.
