red-tailor rubber boa???

kayle Nov 03, 2004 06:46 PM

im hopefully going to be getting a snake sometime soon and i still cant decide between a red tail boa and a rubber boa. i really like both snakes and i would have more room for a rubber boa. although i could make room for a red tail.
Any oppinions welcome! also if anybody can post any good care sheets that would also be helpful.

Personally I would prefer the red tail over the rubber. There are some island forms of the redtail that do not get very big, about 6 ft or so is almost as big or bigger than they will get. 6ft does sound HUGE to the average person, but it is a very managable size, and if you get the snake at a small size, you'll be very accustomed to it by that time. Some to check out are the hogg island boa, and the nicaraguan boa......There are a few more, but these 2 are fairly common.
