I am planning on building a couple cages for my beardies and was just wondering is plywood is ok....

I used 3/4" 4'x8' sheet and was able to make a cage 20"x30"x39" with one side glass from one sheet...I was told 3/4 was overkill but I didn't want interior bracing and had to be able to support the weight of stacking without warping.

Plywood is fine. Lighter than melamine and can receive a very nice finish. I prefer to pay a bit extra for the birch/maple or oak laminated products.

After all these years it's still my material of choice.
