"Boo"...new ghost litter!

creptilia Jun 30, 2003 12:33 AM

Hey everyone,
Litter #2- we got “Boo” ghosts! First thing this morning, I went to check my gravid double het for ghost (bred by a ghost) to find a smokin’ litter of babies. Half of them are “slightly” premature, but they seem content sitting in their amniotic sacs with their heads poking out. I do not have the official count as of yet (I didn’t want to disturb them), but I think I have sixteen babies and two slugs. I counted at least 4 ghosts and one of them is exceptional, especially if you like aberrant boas. There is a beautiful hypo (in the following post), which seems to be some kind of reverse stripe! A DH ghost x ghost breeding potentially yields 37.5% ghost (dominant:co-dominant, 1:2), 37.5% hypo (dominant:co-dominant, 1:2), 12.5% anery, and 12.5% het for anery, so I am anticipating the final stats.

There are a few of us who believe this “Boo” line of ghosts and anery’s are special (originated from Rich Ihle). It looks as if they will live up to their reputation. I will make sure to post pics later this week and report the final count. I am hoping to prove out my Ronne Pastel possible het anery by hopefully producing pastel ghosts, hypos, and anerys (Ivories). I will have to wait a few more weeks for this litter.

I hope you all are having as much fun as I am,

Thanks Mike- it was your ghost whom worked his magic. The first litter I had was an 18 bunch of pink Hoggs.

Also the striped hypo looks great. Do you get alot of striping with the hypos you are using?

This is my first litter with this female, so I am going to have to keep him/her to see if we get more stripers in the future.
