This is a hatchling from this year that is sired by a creamsicle male (presumed 50% emoryi, 50% guttata) and mother was pure emoryi, so these would be 75% emoryi and 25% guttata.

Very cool looking corn and nice pic. Looks like the eyes are bulging somewhat. Mine is the lighter colored snake alongside a pair of Brazos Island Rats. The light snake is from a cross bt. a hypo corn x a Brazos Island Rat...

Just a question - what is the genetic makeup of a Texas Corn? Is this a corn morph or a cross with other species like texas ratsnake? Very interesting snake in the picture,

Its a Pantherophis Slowinski. Mostly referred to as Kisatchie corn. Most believe it was a natural intergrade between a Corn and Emory's (Great Plains) rat snake. It is now considered to be a seperate species. I prefer to call it a Texas corn since that is where it is from. The people in Lousianna would probably disagree. The bug eyes are a result of the rat snake influenceI would presume. Its eyes bulge out more than my Texas Rat.
