Mealworms vs. Super Worms

bluebug32 Nov 04, 2004 03:34 PM

Hey guys,

Question: What's the difference between mealies and super worms? Any nutritional differences? I have a baby leo and he didn't take to the mealies right away. Should I try super worms?

Thanks in advance.

Superworms are likely too large for a baby leo, as are some mealworms. Superworms do not gain much in nutritional value over mealworms. If the leo is refusing food altogether, try small crickets and see if that will jump start the leos appetite.

you might be getting mealworms that are too big. if you go to

www.grubco.com
they sell 1,000 smalls for 9.75, this includes shipping.

also there is a website for minimealworms, they are very small and very active (do not refrigerate. that will kill them) http://www.minimealworms.com/ , 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch (10mm - 15mm) in size.

48.31% protein
40.46% crude fat
43.05% dry matter
56.95% moisture
2.92% ash

their prices are fair too

maybe they are not eating because the mealies you have are too big?
