Oooh wkdrake, got an idea!!!

Set up your waterfall and get some PVC pipping from Home Depot. Cut it in half length wise and silicone it together to make your "river" I saw something like it on another page (and of course, now I can't find it again) and they had it covered with river rocks to hide the pipe.

Just thought I'd pass the idea on to ya.

Ooooohhhhhh, I am liking this one already!! How did they get the waterfall to only drain into the river, and not all over the substrate, do you remember?? Oh, maybe a pool under the waterfall, with the river draining from the pool??? And I could glue rocks into the pvc pipe to make it look like a streambed!!! This could work!!!

Thanks!
Wendy

Actually I think that's exactly what they did. It kinda looked like the waterfall poured into a small pond like area that was slightly higher than the river part. It looked really nice, They had ivy along the side of the river too with the rocks. It looked very natural and the substrat around it didn't look wet at all. I will search tomorrow and see if I can find it again. So far it has illuded me LOL Go figure.

Go to the dart frog forum. I know somebody there will have the link to a site I also saw this on. Or search the archives.....

well now that you brought up this subject. i was thinking the other night if i took peices of pvc and siliconed them to the side of my tank i could create a multi level water fall. to get the water up their all i would have to do is run some tubing from my pump up to the pvc and let it run...

If you end up doing it, would you post a pic? I can't quite picture it in my head, and would love to actually see it.

Heck, makes me want to do it too, but We have mostly tree frogs so it wouldn't be anything but pretty to look at and I wouldn't want to go in for water changes and stuff on something that complicated. The less I have to bother my froggies the better. Don't want to go stressin my Red Eyes, they have enough problems as it is LOL My poor babies.
