A few bloods of our own

Amelia Nov 04, 2004 04:50 PM

Well since everyone has been posting pics of their bloods lately I decided to grab the camera today and take a few quick pics, not the greatest but something, and being I havn't learned how to post multiple pics in the forums here, I guess I will have to do it one by one. First up is a little male borneo my bf hatched out this year, which I think he looks pretty cool, a female from the same litter looks just like him color wise..but she is going into a shed, so no pics of her for now. Well here he is.

That one's definitely my favorite. I love reds with that thick gold stripe -- very beautiful snakes.

Good boyfriend! Sounds like he's well trained.

Gotta love a guy that surprises you with unexpected pretty blood pythons. He's keeper!

Thanks to all who said nice things about the snakes, yes my bf is just wonderful, the perfect guy for me. Hopefully we can get a few more bloods into the collection, Im keeping my eye out for some chrome headed blacks though..no luck this year..those bloods are just a few of the snakes we have in the approx. 300 snake collection..which is ever growing..but I wouldn't have it any other way..

lets see some pics of your rat room.... how many rats do you have or how do you feed all those guys? I just got me first rat rack going last weekend....

Amelia Nov 05, 2004 04:17 PM

Yes, well thats just an approximate, although since its always being added onto its always growing, I should go through and count everything one of these days, just for the heck of it, and we just added on new snake racks that have 108 spaces in them..as for the rodents, most of the animals are on f/t, so we have a supplier for f/t rats and mice, and rabbits as well when we need them, we do however breed our own mice and rats, which we just set up a few months ago, its in one of the little shed/garages out back, 20x20..insulated and heater equipped, has to be for winter, plus hairless mice and rats are breeding out there as well, cant freeze them lol, my bf has constructed a few rat racks, and the mice are all in little lab trays. Overall I have to say it works out quite nicely, of course we are still getting more mice and rats out there to breed, but it takes awhile, we are probably going to have racks lined up against each wall, and possibly a row or two in the middle, but thats still just in the planning stage. I will see if I can get some pics of the rodent set ups, most likely after I change all the cages tomorrow out there. Looks like you have a nice rack you made. The mice are all on self drip watering systems, and some of the rats are as well that are in their own racks. Well thats about all I can think of on that subject at the moment.

Do you breed and sell any of your guys and do you have a website? I just recieved my first two bloods this week, two borneos (I'll get pic's up soon, they're just little guys). I've got several dozen balls, some boa's and monitors, but the bloods looked like to much fun to pass up...... Wish I had room for a 20 x 20 rat room, just built a brand new house and my yard is not hardly that big lol.....
