my rosy boa just dropped

ogre064 Nov 04, 2004 09:26 PM

I need to know what to do. She just dropped 4 tonight. Do i open the sack for them or will they get out on their own? Do i take them away from the mother? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks
Derrick

They should be able to emerge from the sack on their own. It may be a good idea to remove the mother meanwhile to prevent her from crawling over them but I would leave the younge where they lay. Healthy offspring have a cutting tooth that helps them tear through the sack, however, in some rare cases they lay lack this tooth. In such a case if it appears as if they are having difficulty emerging from the sack you can carefully cut a small slit in the sack but DO NOT REMOVE THE BOAS! leave them to emerge on their own. Hope this helps!
