After returning to the car and a quick nap then dinner I headed back down to the desert for another night of road cruising. I arrived in the "area" around 10:30 PM (after the night before I didn't expect there to be much out as the temp was about the same during the day) It appeared that I had made a good decision as there was much more life than the previous night, again mostly insects to start with including a few of the more interesting kinds as pictured below:
Scorpion (have no idea what kind)

Wind Scorpion (I believe this is what they are called)

Walking Stick?

I had a pretty consistent night of herping including a few more sidewinders, a nice Colorado Desert Shovel-nosed snake (Chionatis occipitalis annulata), a California Glossy Snake (Arizona elegans occidentalis), a Western Long-Nosed Snake (Rhinocheilus lecontei) and several Spotted Leaf-Nosed snakes (Phyllorhynchus browni) - (sorry that the pictures of the last two came out so poorly, the camera was giving me some problems, battery was low and lighting was poor) If I was planning on going back I would have kept them over-night and photographed them but as I wasn't I just did the best I could...
