silicone II for sealer? Need feedback please!

thomasboxertko Nov 05, 2004 11:44 AM

I have a 30" glass inclosure that i placed a plexiglass divider into it to make 2 seperate inclosures. My question is is silicone II safe after it has dried and aired out and is it ok for 2 snakes to be able to see eachother through the plexiglass or should i cover the glass so that cant see eachother? Thanks Thomas

aquariums are sealed and held together with silicone

100% outdoor grade silicone..

yes let it dry well........

......I tried that once with a 10 gal tank for deer mice....they climbed over the divider no matter how well I tried.......

......good luck

It should be fine as long as you let it set up and air out for a while. Some silicone caulks have fungicides added to the mix to kill molds and mildew and I've heard that these could cause problems when you use the tank for fish. But as long as you're not filling it with water it shouldn't be a problem.
