Miracle!!!

I raised Maxine from a baby of about 6 weeks old or so. A beautiful 50/50 California King.
Last I saw her she was 2 years old. One day she managed to pop the sliding lid over its retaining pins and escape while we were not home. I tried everything to find her. I even placed flour around a mouse in the middle of the floor and against the wall but to no avail. One and a half years passed in the mean time I was given another Cali just not a 50/50. Wednesday night I backed my truck out of the garage and backed into the turn lane in my driveway it was raining. My headlights lit up the driveway and there I saw her sitting as pretty as you please in my driveway. A year and a half later. I took her to the Vet last night and he said she was in amazing shape considering how long she was gone. No mites ticks or anything. I was amazed. It is still blowing my mind.

it'd be fun to know where you live, what sort of climate a cali king survived in for 18 mos.

guess that would be helpful. I live in East Tennessee. Last winter was a little milder than most we usually have. I don't know if she has been perhaps in my basement or outside the whole time or maybe even in the garage. I have no way of knowing.

I purchased two reptariums today to house my snakes I hope they will prove to be more secure.

Ah, I am also in east TN and missing a snake. Mine is a rubber boa, but perhaps I will have similer, if hopefully more prompt luck.

A couple years ago (when I lived in Ohio) my California King escaped in the fall. I searched for weeks with no luck. In the spring he showed up sunning himself on a rock outside our house. Temps had gone down to near zero F that winder, I still don't know where or how he survived the winter.
