Lethargic Dragon

Bigman7 Nov 05, 2004 07:17 PM

Hey all, I have a dragon named Bowser that I have had for about a year now. The first six months I had him, he was a voracious eater, and would eat vegetables and live prey alike. He also spent a lot of time on his rock, basking. The last six months, he will take almost no veggies, and I have only gotten him to take live prey (pinkie mice) on two different occasions. He also hides under a log all of the time (the coolest part of the cage). Any suggestions on ways to pep him up???

Thanks.

I think that Bowser put himself into an early brumation. Dragons can do that themselves. Maybe he felt like brumating early this year.

That's all I can think of since what you described is what everyone else describes when their dragon goes into brumation.

6 months is a little too early for even the earliest brumation.

how is the cage set-up? what temperature is the basking light? what do you feed him, how often, and is it suplemented?
