Well I don't recommend powersuns they are a hassle I recommend a different brand search around and see what you find but I had a powersun it blew out after 3 months and it wasn't tilted and it was in a 10 inch dome and I barely ever moved the thing.I don't know about you but I don't like sending in for replacements 4 times a year and having to wait 7-10 days for it to arrive.

The bulbs at reptileuv.com are actually made specifically for herps, and put out far more UVB. Also, the externally ballasted units last longer and are cheaper in the long run.

how are those bulbs?ive been meaning to try one out but im worried about the heat portion ive heard they dont get hot enough...which one do you rec.?thanks

Most of the bulbs are only 60w, so yes you will need a seperate heater. Why is this better? The ballasts in most self-ballasted lights can't handle the high heat. If you seperate them out, you get a better bulb. I purchased nearly $1,000 worth of their bulbs so far, and I have a UVB meter to prove their claims.

hi i reccomend the t-rex bulbs they are both great bulbs but i think the rex bulbs give off a brighter light and i would use the 160 watt spot or flood on 1 side of the tank just adjust your basking sight height to get the right tempand then i would put a red bulb on the other side of the tank for 24 hr heat that way the middle is cooler...i love the spot bulbs better they give off a ton a uvb compared the flood just make sure its straight up and down and never move it when on and it will last..goodluck hope this helps...and shop around to i think ive seen them for around 40 bucks plus shipping just type in a search for active uvheat
