I have a yearling Hog Island & a 4 month old Hog Island. They have both been well socialized & are wonderful, friendly snakes. Of all my snakes, it's always a struggle to get these 2 back in their cages after handling. They just really like being out. I swear it takes 3 hands to get the lid back on & keep the snake in! I just can't say enough good things about them, they are beautiful, one has peachy pink highlights & the other has a strong salmon color on his belly. And I love the way they change color throughout the day. You can see them at one time & they're a light, ashen color. You look in later & they look dark brown. It's fun!

I have 2 common boas and they are very docile. Easy handled snakes and are good feeders. But both of mine are still young. I believe its better to buy a young boa under 6 months old if its going to be a pet. I'm sure the same goes for the hog island boa. When you buy a
baby half the fun is watching it grow and change. Good luck with your new pet.
