Please Respond, weird behavior question

Triad Nov 06, 2004 02:11 PM

So I woke up this morning and turned Hades light on (daytime basking light). Then I decided to sit down on my bed and he started staring at me. I called a friend and while I was talking he started to puff out his beard. I walked out of the room and he was fine. I came back in still on the phone and he started puffing his beard again.

I then hung up and he stopped. I got on my phone again, this time I pretended to talk to someone and he did the puffing thing again.

Then I went to give him a wax worm for his morning treat ( I do this about 3 times every two-three days.) and he started hissing at me. He didn't even eat his treat.

Now he's acting normal. I do not know what was going on so could you guys help me out please?

I kno that when my Bd's are about to shed their heads, they puff out their beards to help loosen the shed skin and amke it easier to come off. Is it possible that ur BD is ready to shed it's head??? and as far as the hissing at you, i don't kno about that.

See he just got done shedding about a week ago so I figure that he shed his head along with his body. I also remember seeing his head become a pale color along with the rest of his body. Everytime he sheds he gets paler in color because the old skin is blocking out his color.

My brother seems to think that maybe Hades is becoming sexually mature. Could that be part of the reason he's puffing himself out? I think he was just mad at me earlier for waking him up. He hasn't hissed since and he's better now that it's getting to be bed time.

I think it's just a showing off thing. My guy does it once in a while when I walk by or even if he's taking a swim and obviously having a fine time he'll just puff out his beard and show off. Just a beardie thang.

Ok, just as long as he's not sick or anything then I'm fine. He did look like he was gonna kill me though. Gave me this evil little beardie look and it's one of those looks where if they could talk they'd say "you put your hand in my tank 1 more time, and i swear to god i'm gonna bite it off!" lol.

Question QB, what size container do you have in your bearded's terraium where he swims? or do you take him out to the bathtub?

Bearded Dragons have a small brain and dont have the capacity to know what a phone is.
I know that my cat gets scared when i put a hat on(dont laugh). since dragons have a smaller brain capacity than a cat it wouldnt suprise me if a dragon was intimidated by a phone.
