Burgundy Female

Python Dreams Nov 06, 2004 06:11 PM

Here is a cool Burgundy female I have that finally started eating again after nearly a years break. Very nerve racking.

Belly shot.

Nice looking burgundy.
I really like this morph [...if they prove out].
You can see some pics of mine on posts below...I'm
sure people are getting tired of seeing her!

Good luck,

i bought a wc female ball python -i don't really understand the burgundy term-my ball on the black spots looks like a purplish/burgundy color not exactly black.what else could i look for in order to find the right name for the reptile-her head is almost the color of her tan saddles it's not black but looks bleached is that a sign of a burgundy?

Sounds like you have a female to prove out.

Ive got a 5 ' girl that has the tan but the burgundy is dark.
Hope i get a male from her this year...

i'm new to the breeding game.i wouldn't know the first about what to put with what.some of the reptiles i seen have a house note for price.if you know of any deals i would be interested in checking them out.

I don't know that people have really agreed to exactly what
the definition of a 'burgundy' is. In general, I would say
that it is a ball python that lacks all black, where the black
is replaced with a red-ish brown (aka burgundy). Their bellies,
in my experience, is a little 'washed out' looking. Here
are some pics of my burgundy to give you an idea. Can you
post a pic of yours? I find that putting them next to another
'normal' ball python is good for contrast.

I hope to prove her out this season (...although she hasn't
been too interested in eating for the last several months!).
She produced 6.3 offspring (she was bred by a 100% het jolliff
axanthic male).
