Has any one tried making a big reptile rack system?

Rottenweiler9 Nov 06, 2004 09:06 PM

Last year I bought three huge containers from the walmart, I guess you are suppose to use them for xmas trees. But I was wondering if anyone had tried making one like freedom breeders and how it turned out.

Thanks

Well, I mad eup a set of plans to use the vision tubs but the problem was the tubs have a lot of variance from one to an other so I would of had to build the rack out of wood. I will probably build the rack in the spring by then lumber prices might lower a little more I hope.. Here's a thought... freedom breeder builds rack like cages (8 foot) however they are pretty steep in price.

I've seen ones made using the underbed type containers(aprox 10" high,5' long),I think the only problem is finding containers strong enough to hold the weight!Although, the food trays at restaurants look suspiciously similiar to freedom breeder bins!LOL!!

A little high on the price. I thought that I could use these big rubbermaids as a rack system, what if I put a heavy peice of glass over them, but somthing to hold it down. Just trying to get ideas, now that I have my basement, my collection can grow.
