How many of you provide broccoli to your igs??

DanielP Nov 06, 2004 10:16 PM

I know the flowerets have high phosphorus to calcium ratio, but I heard that stems and leaves are excellent. I was just wondering if some of you feed it to your igs.
Also, have you ever tried figs?? I was told that it has a high level of calcium, especially when dried.
Oh well, that's it for now.
Later,
Dan

I'm not sure if it's the same plant or not, but I feed my iguana the leaves of the broccoli raab plant. You can get it at the supermarket, it looks like broccoli with lots of leaves. Sometimes it's called rappini or chinese broccoli. He seems to like it!

But it is a pain in the butt because from what I hear you are supposed to scrape all the little seeds out and not feed them the seeds. Also, if you can only find them dried, you have to rehydrate them in warm water.
