i have a african side neck turtle, i believe. and he, i assume, is in a 55 gallon tank 3/4 filled with water with ramp/platform that has a black light basking lamp over it. he swims around alot whenever i walk by his tank and basks whenever he feels like it. i think that he is over weight because he has rolls around the top of his legs. anyway, he has a uva/uvb strip light above the other end of his tank. there is a layer of river rock on the bottom of his tank. there are two filters because one wasn't enough, they were cheap and only power up to 30 gallons of water a piece. i feed him two to four pellets a day, i alternate brands, and feed him crickets everyother day or so. i also bought feeder guppies that he likes very much. he absolutely loves the crickets though! his day temps are around 75 to 80. and night temps are around 68 to 70. his basking lamp is set to 92 degrees. and there is a mesh top for a cover. my only question after all the babble is, am i doing this right?
anything that you'd like to offer or suggest or even curse me out would be greatly appreciated!! just let me know if i can do this better!!
